I feel the same way when I find a really good book at the library.  Instead of checking it out a bazillion times, it feels right to just buy the thing.

As far as online newspapers go, I find them useful for genealogy.  Looking at a few archived issues, I can see what my family was up to and how they lived all those years ago.

The big problem with paying is inconvenience.  It&#039;s much easier just to search Wikipedia or BBC news than to log in and enter credit card details.   And a lot of newspapers and community volunteers these days get their information from BBC and Wikipedia anyway.  

And for the really deep stuff, I find librarians more experienced and knowledgable than the volunteers on a message board. 

There are times when paying online is worth it.
